According to latest estimates by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), developers launched 726 new units and sold 654 of such units in June 2018, with the top sellers being 120 Grange (43 units), Marina One Residences, Wallich Residence and 8 Hullet. June was the month with the lowest number of new sales in Q2 2018. This was mainly due to price resistance to the new projects that were launched. In total, there were a total of 2,450 new units launched and 2,509 units sold in Q2 2018, summing up to 3,371 and 4,090 units launched and sold in the first half of 2018. Both these figures were lower than that of the first half of 2017 (by 15 per cent and 32 per cent, respectively). In contrast, the resale market remained strong with 8,006 resale transactions in the first half of 2018. When the new cooling measures were introduced on 5 July, around 1,000 new homes were sold that very night as developers brought forward three launches to allow buyers to book their homes before the new rules kick in. In the Executive Condo market, only 52 units were sold in the month as most of the projects have already sold out. The 29 units of Rivercove Residences that were sold in June hit $1,000 psf, a new benchmark for exec condos.
