Newly created CMO position will oversee all strategic marketing plans and directions of List Sotheby’s International Realty in Asia (excluding Japan)
Singapore, 18 January 2019 – List Sotheby’s International Realty (List SIR) has appointed veteran marketer Mr. Johnson Goh as Chief Marketing Officer for its Asia businesses (excluding Japan).
With the appointment, Mr Johnson Goh will be in charge of providing strategic counsel in marketing to the various Chief Operating Officers in List SIR offices in Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines and Hong Kong S.A.R., and ensuring that the marketing and branding strategies of each office are consistent with each other on a macro level. The appointment took effect from 1 January 2019. Johnson will retain his current role as Executive Director of Marketing for List SIR’s Singapore office.
In addition, Johnson was also appointed as a member of a group level committee which oversees the development of all high-level strategies related to marketing and information technology matters of the entire List SIR, including the Japan and Hawaii offices.
Mr Yasushi Yamada, List SIR’s Head of Asia Region and Chief Operating Officer of List Holdings Singapore Pte. Ltd., said: “With his vast experience in both marketing and digital realms, Johnson is the perfect candidate to help List Sotheby’s International Realty enter into a new phase of marketing. Speaking on his vision and direction for the marketing and branding of List SIR in the region, Johnson said: “The world today is evolving. Leveraging on technology advancement, coupled with the expertise of the group, we hope to build on the digital capabilities of the company, to better understand the changing needs of today’s consumers when it comes to buying a house. We will continue to develop an integrated real estate marketing ecosystem to facilitate the buying and selling process and, at the same time, offer a personal touch to our customers.”
A veteran in both marketing and business development who believes in bringing innovation into the realm of traditional businesses, Johnson has held key executive appointments in major companies across various fields such as media, advertising, franchising, digital solutions as well as the online property industry both locally and in the region. Prior to joining List SIR, Johnson was Chief Operating Officer of Singapore Real Estate Exchange or SRX, Singapore’s leading property portal and a subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings (SPH). Before taking up the role at SRX, Johnson was Vice-President, Strategic Marketing and Head of Online Classifieds business at SPH. He also held senior executive positions at national broadcaster Media Corporation of Singapore (Mediacorp) and Singapore Yellow Pages.
For his significant contributions to the marketing industry, Johnson was conferred a Fellowship by the Marketing Institute of Singapore and has also won numerous international accolades including being named as Marketer of the Year in 2014 by the Pacific Area Newspaper Publishers’ Association (PANPA).
Known for its strong international presence, List SIR’s key strength lies in the combination of established expertise in domestic real estate with a global network around the world. “We will further strengthen our foothold in Asia, creating more synergies across our offices and building stronger relationships with Sotheby’s International Realty affiliate offices worldwide,” Johnson added.
To date, List SIR has 16 offices in the Asia Pacific region. This includes 10 offices in Japan’s major cities such as Tokyo and Yokohama, two offices in Hawaii and one office each in the Philippines (opened in 2016), Singapore (2017), Hong Kong (2017) and its newest office in Bangkok, Thailand, which opened in September of 2018.
To affirm its position in the real estate market as the Asian gateway to major cities in Asia-Pacific and become one of the largest regional real estate brokerages, List SIR will also begin operations in countries like Indonesia and Vietnam soon.
The Singapore office is the Southeast Asia regional headquarters for List SIR. It is currently looking at expanding and boosting the team by recruiting more real estate professionals, especially those who are familiar with the luxury market.
